GSSC 2003 Boys Win the Gloucester Invitation Soccer Tournament in Dramatic Fashion

The GSSC 2003 boys were in familiar territory as they headed into penalties for the Gloucester Invitational Soccer Tournament u14 Finals. This year however, the players knew what was ahead of them and came out on top.

"The boys were in this same situation last year, having played the full game but just not being able to edge out the other team, and instead the game needed to be decided in penalties" said Head Coach Steph Legrand. "This year however, they were a little better prepared, and it showed when they stepped up to take their kicks. All 5 kickers who stepped up converted their chances, and our goal keeper did exactly what he needed to do and made one big save to win us the game".

The team hopes to add a bit more silverware to their collection as they play in a two more tournament in Mid-August.

Girls Development Program Initiative - IS NOW FULL

The Greater Sudbury Soccer Club is proud to announce that it will be running an all-girls program initiative for the season of 2017!

With 4 sessions on March 23 & 30th and April 6th & 13th!
6:30pm - 8:00PM @ Cambrian College Main Gym

In recent years, female youth enrolment in sport has dropped considerably, and it is with programs such as this that we begin to reverse the current trend, all while providing an instructional and fun program!

This initiative is lead by GSSC's very own U21 women's coach Dayna Corelli who, with the support of other female coaches/players from GSSC, will work towards providing a fun, comfortable, and encouraging learning environment for girls born between 2003 - 2010!

We want to thank the Sudbury Credit Union AND Sudburysports.com for sponsoring us in this endeavor!

Thank you to all those who signed up! To those who were too late, we will keep you on file for any potential future sessions we may hold!

Congratulations Giuseppe!
